A virtual fair will take place in Cumbria this year for young people aged 12 and over, who are transitioning into adulthood, and also for their parents/carers.

The fair is aimed at young people who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or other significant need. This could include serious mental health issues or attending alternative provision.

If a child has special education needs or disabilities (SEND) Cumbria County Council say getting the right advice and support for their transition into adulthood is important.

The fair will offer support and guidance that is available to them.

Last year's event, which was held in Penrith, attracted more than 200 people.

The Preparation for Adulthood fair will be held virtually this year and will bring together more than 60 organisations to deliver a week long event between October 5 to 9.

More details will be made available on the Facebook pages of Cumbria County Council Family Action support services. A full programme will be released soon.
