A bid to transform Workington has been submitted to the Government.
Allerdale Council has expressed excitement after submitting a bid for £25 million in Government support.
The Towns Fund supports transformational regeneration projects in communities like Workington, totalling £3.6 billion. More than 100 towns made a bid.
Mike Johnson, deputy leader of Allerdale Council said: "It’s great to finally be able to formally submit our proposals to Government. We’re confident we’ve put together a really strong business case which we know has the backing of the local community. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome."
