PROPOSALS for a new car wash in Workington have been given the thumbs-up.
Allerdale District Council approved the plans on Wednesday for the "erection of a car wash, jet wash and vacuum bay on the existing car showroom site".
The site's location is N&M Walkingshaw Ltd on Joseph Noble Road.
According to the officers report: "The proposal involves the erection of a polycarbonate car wash, jet wash and vacuum bay with glass reinforced polyester plant room on an existing car showroom site."
A comment on the council's website from a neighbour said: "We fully support the above application.
"During these difficult economic times it is great to see a business wanting to provide new services, expanding and thriving."
