Workington RNLI was called to action after a distress call was reported.
Just before 2pm yesterday crews were assembled to assist a 14 foot vessel to safety.
A spokesman for Workington RNLI said: "We were called out by CGOC Belfast Coastguard after reports that a 14ft vessel was in distress off the coast of Flimby.
"The volunteer crew assembled at about 1.55pm and launched all weather lifeboat Dorothy May White.
"Crew towed vessel into Maryport harbour and the two occupants on board are safe and well.
"Great multi-operational working and thanks to our colleagues in Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team."
