A MAN from Crosby near Maryport has been sentenced by a court after he pleaded guilty to a domestic violence assault.

Antony William Pattinson, 37, of Moorlea, Crosby, admitted a common assault on a woman on November 18 last year when he appeared before magistrates at Carlisle’s Rickergate court.

He had previously denied wrongdoing. Magistrates imposed a community order.

It includes a requirement to complete a 30-day accredited programme and to complete up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity.

Pattinson must also carry out 40 hours of unpaid work in the community.

The defendant will be subjected to a restraining order, which includes a not contacting the victim except through a named solicitor; or going within 100 metres of her home in Springfield Road, Carlisle, unless for his work. This restriction applied until July 26 next year.

In addition, the defendant must pay £250 prosecution costs and a victim surcharge of £95. The guilty plea was taken into account, said magistrates.
