New manager Chris Willcock is looking for a winning start to his Workington Reds reign at Kidsgrove this afternoon.
Apart from striker Scott Allison (shoulder) Willcock has a full squad to choose from for the opening NPL West Division game.
He said: “The lads are buoyant after two good sessions this week and we are all looking forward to the first game.
“They have given me a headache over selection and that’s good. I named a 16-man squad at training on Thursday and they will find out the team when we get to Kidsgrove.
“We know a little bit about the opposition but I am more concerned with how we perform on the day.”
Reds have never won at Kidsgrove in four visits, the last one being a disappointing FA Cup replay defeat three years ago.
The first home game of the season is on Tuesday night when City of Liverpool visit Borough Park and next Saturday it’s the FA Cup when last season’s giant-killers Marine are the visitors.
