KESWICK Film Festival will be hosting the Osprey Short Film awards later this month.

The short films were originally entered for screening at the 2021 festival, which had to be postponed.

Festival director Ian Payne said: "Entries for the 22nd Keswick Film Festival competition were invited back in March 2020 and despite the difficulties of working for much of the year with lockdown restrictions Cumbrian filmmakers responded magnificently in both the Student and Open categories.

"The selected film makers have used a wide range of budgets and technical resources and worked in many film genres and styles to showcase their imagination and creativity, and all in no more than 10 minutes.

"We have selected 12 films to show and winners in each category will be announced after the screening."

The awards will be presented by Max Newsom, director of ‘Iceland is Best’, on Saturday, October 23, at the Alhambra.

Details of the films can be found at keswickfilm.org.

Keswick’s Annual Film Festival returns to the town in March 2022 - on the weekend of the Oscars.

Having missed a year for the first time since starting, the festival will bring its programme of the best of independent and world cinema to the Keswick Alhambra, the Theatre by the Lake and to Rheged, near Penrith.
