IF you are looking for something to do this bank holiday weekend, then look no further.

At the Times & Star we've compiled together a list of ten things to do in Workington and Allerdale.

We hope you find something for you and your friends and family to enjoy.

  1. If you are a lover of health and fitness why not give the GO TRI Workington Super Sprint Charity Event a go. Taking place this Saturday at Workington leisure centre, participants can take on a super sprint, a 200m swim and a 4k static bike ride. All whilst raising money for a good cause.
  2. Spring is most certainly here, and what better way to enjoy it than a weekend in the Lake District. Allerdale is home to some of the most beautiful parts of the national park. Keswick in particular is an idyllic - if popular - location to spend a relaxed day out.
  3. If you'd prefer to avoid the noise and the crowds, then there is also Buttermere and Loweswater. These neighbouring lakes are set against the picturesque backdrop of the Cumbrian fells and are simply magnificent.
