A WEST Cumbrian dance school will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a special concert to reflect the affect Cowpers School of Dance has had in the dance world over the last 150 years.
The school, which has bases in both Workington and Whitehaven will host the concert at Carnegie Theatre in Workington this Saturday and Sunday, July 9 &10 with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
Current Principal Adrienne Kelly has ran the school since her mother retired, she is now the fifth generation in the family to run Cowper's School of Dance- which was set up by her Great-Grandfather Oliver Cowper, followed by grand father Roland Cowper, auntie Pauline Cowper and mother Marion Cowper.
Adrienne said: "Obviously we can't condense everything we have done in 150 years into two hours ut we are doing a little bit of everything.
"Were doing the Charlston, 70's, Mamma Mia and we have quite a lot of babies aswell so they will be doing different things.
"The kids are just really excited and looking forward to be back, there's been lots of really proud moments with the kid we have took them to London to dance on the Palladium."
Some of the performers have also been taken to New York to dance on Broadway.
