A MAN was found with a bag of cocaine in his possession while in police custody.
Johnathen Miller, 27, was in custody for a separate incident on July 7, Workington Magistrates’ Court was told.
Pamela Fee, prosecuting, said the defendant was searched and a bag containing white powder was found. The substance was seized and tested positive for cocaine.
Miller was interviewed but made no comment throughout.
Claire Kirkpatrick, defending, said Miller accepted he had been using cocaine at the time and had a number of issues.
Ms Kirkpatrick said he was now engaging with First Steps and waiting to see a councillor.
Miller, of Access Road to Lingholm and Derwent, Portinscale, Keswick, pleaded guilty to possessing a Class A drug.
He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £100 victim surcharge.
An order was made for forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
