Farmers, families, fell runners, locals and tourists - you name it, they were at Keswick Show.

The conditions were perfect for the first show in three years. And there was no doubt everyone was delighted to be back.

Thousands of people headed through the gates to enjoy everything that was on offer. The many sheep, horse, pony and dog classes were well contested.

The industrial marquee was full of fabulous creations. All ages enjoyed the vintage display, many trade stands, arts and crafts.

The Cumberland Wrestling attracted big crowds and there was a great turn out for the fell race, with the runners heading up Barrow.

There were many show regulars - competing or simply spectating, catching up with old friends, enjoying a picnic, pint or ice cream.

Cockermouth Mechanics Band kept everyone entertained.

Haydn Spedding is vice chairman of the show which has been running since 1860.

"We are very pleased with how it's going," he said.

"It's been three years since we had a show and there's a great sense of the public being delighted to be back here again.

"The locals can catch up with each other and the tourists can see everything we have to offer.

"The weather is ideal, not too hot for all the animals."

Cockermouth farmer Alan Edmondson was showing eight Herdwicks. He won overall Champion Sheep of the Field.

"I'm Borrowdale born and a regular here. It's a lovely special day for people," he said.

Ann Hardman is Vice Chairman of the Ladies Committee and was delighted with how well the Industrial Marquee was doing.

There was a steady flow of folk admiring everything on offer.

"We had about 500 entries and a nice variety," she said.

"It's been really busy which is lovely."

It was the first time at the show for rider Darci-Jo Fleming, five, and her mum, Sam, from Egremont.

"It's been awesome, such a great turnout, we've loved it," said Sam.

Carriage drivers Gary Pigney and Tina Harvey, from near Penrith, were at the show with their horse Tommy, who was champion at this year's Highland Show.

"We like to support all the local shows and perform in front of the crowds. Keswick Show is brilliant, a lovely show in a stunning setting," said Gary.

Claire Chapelhow and Matthew Vandale, of Newton Rigg, were with their daughters Willow and Evelyn and dog Poppy.

"It's a nice family day out, it's always good fun," said Matthew.
