A COMMUNITY has been left shocked after two bodies were found in a home on a housing estate in the Moorclose area of Workington.

A man and woman's bodies were found inside the property, with their deaths being treated as 'unexplained' but not suspicious at this time.

The mayor of Workington Denise Rollo expressed her sadness at the deaths and sent her condolences to the family of the deceased.

She said: "This is terrible news.

"My thoughts are with their friends and families and the immediate community at this sad time."

The bodies of a man and woman were found at a property on Newlands Gardens, Workington at around 11:40am on Tuesday, September 13.

Formal identification has not yet taken place as to the identity of the two people.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: "Officers are treating the deaths as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious at this time."
