Headliners for this year’s Solfest music festival have been revealed.

Among the performers headlining are big names like The Libertines, leading the pack with their chaotic and rambunctious ensemble, led with Pete Doherty and Carl Barat, known for hits like ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’, ‘Don’t Look Back into the Sun’, and ‘What Became of the Likely Lads’.

The festival takes place from August 24 to 29 at the North Lakes Country Park in Silloth, and The Libertines will be heading to Solfest on Sunday, August 27.

Ocean Colour Scene, Britpop legends, will be bringing iconic hits from the album ‘Moseley Shore’, having just completed a sold-out December tour.

Saturday night’s DJ headliner Wilkinson has some big shoes to fill after 2022 saw Pendulum take to the stage, but the platinum-selling DJ will be bringing his A game with MC Ad-Apt and a whole roster of hits.

The Bluestone Acoustic’s Mark Miller and Adam Devlin will be headlining the New Folk tent, while Peter Hook and the Light, founding member of Joy Division and New Order, will bring his iconic bass riffs to Solfest, hearing ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’, and ‘Blue Monday’.

The Undertones, punks from Derry, bring hits like ‘Teenage Kicks’ and ‘My Favourite Cousin’ back to the Solfest fields having headlined in 2005 and 2013 and return to headline the Solway bar tent.

Australian band Sons of the East, with over 2million monthly listeners on Spotify, will be the sleeper hit of the festival, and Easy Star All-Stars, famed for their dub reimaginings of classic albums like Radiodread – (Ok Computer) and Dub Side of the Moon.

Solfest director Sam Johnston said: “It may have been two years since we received the Arts Council Culture Recovery Fund grant of £175k but we are still reaping the rewards of that government investment as seen today in this stellar line-up.
