A Databank Drop-in will be held in Cockermouth next month, providing free data to people in need.
The National Databank is providing free data to 500,000 people in need via Good Things Foundation’s network of community partners, in partnership with Virgin Media O2, Vodafone and Three.
Cockermouth Library will be hosting an event from 10am to 1pm on April 17.
Cockermouth Town Council runs the library. Clerk Sheila Brown said: "It's like a Foodbank but for internet connectivity data.
"We are going to do a Databank Drop-in where residents (who qualify) can pick up a free mobile sim card which includes data and unlimited UK calls and texts for six months."
