FIRE crews were called out to a Lake District pub in Mungrisedale last week after a fire broke out at the premises.

Crews from both Penrith and Keswick fire stations were called to The Mill Inn in the village of Mungrisedale last Wednesday, March 15 at 10.08pm after reports a fire had broken out at the property.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 10.08pm on Wednesday, March 15 Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service were mobilised to reports of a fire at The Mill Inn, Mungrisedale.

“Crews from Keswick and Penrith attended the incident and discovered a well-developed fire.

"Firefighters extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.”

A spokesman for Keswick Fire Station said:"Keswick crew alongside Penrith fire crews were alerted to reports of a building fire.

"The fire was extinguished quickly and efficiently to prevent any further fire spread through the roof eaves. Thanks to all crews involved."
