This week our Trader of the Week is The Toy Shop in Cockermouth.

This popular store has been much loved by the people of the town and the surrounding areas for the past three decades, it has also proved to be very popular with tourists, especially during the summer months.

The shop sells a full range of all the latest toys as well as other items and enjoys a strong trade with many regular visitors.

Their website explains that they are a family-run business who's pride and passion is their customers.

They are a traditionally styled toy shop that has two floors full of a whole host of different toys.

The Toy Shop says that the store will help to enlighten children and help them to learn through play.

"We're quite popular in the community, Cockermouth is a market town so most of our customers are repeat customers, in summer we get a bit of the tourist trade but the bread and butter of our trade are local people.

"Lego is probably the most popular toy that we sell, after that it'd be games and jigsaws, crafts are always popular and traditional toys really.

"We also do school uniforms for Cockermouth School and we do a range of young children's clothing which is made by a company based in Kendal.
