WORKINGTON MP Mark Jenkinson has been delivering festive hampers to veterans for the fourth consecutive Christmas.

The MP first started distributing the gift bags in December 2020 as a way of thanking former armed forces personnel for their service.

The hampers are jam-packed with all sorts of local produce from traybakes to tea, from wholegrain mustard to butter fudge.

Mark Jenkinson MP said: “I am privileged to spread some festive cheer among our community of veterans.

“Just like the delivery of thousands of Christmas books to school children across the constituency, the gifting of these hampers has become somewhat of a festive tradition.

“These hampers have been well-received again this year, and this is among the highlights of my year.”

This year Mark has also distributed thousands of copies of A Christmas Carol to infant and primary school children, as well as organising a Christmas card competition from which winning designs have been presented to the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the House of Commons, as well as being distributed to thousands of people around the constituency.
