A NATIONALLY recognised app to help with common musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries and conditions is now being rolled out across Cumbria.

If you have muscle or joint problems, the free GetUBetter app, which has been designed in collaboration with local health professionals is now available to download.

Laura Hocking, a highly specialist MSK physiotherapist from North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“MSK injuries and conditions can be treated at home and get better without the need for a specialist appointment. GetUBetter gives you the knowledge, skills, and confidence you need to improve your MSK health and lifestyle.

“The app will offer tips, advice, and exercises tailored to you and your stage of recovery. The symptom checker will allow the app to give you specific advice based on your main issues. It covers back, neck, shoulder, elbow, hip, leg, knee, and ankle pain, as well as tendinopathy.

“It will give everyone who needs it the tools to self-care for their condition at home and even better, around their own schedule. It will also redirect anyone to the appropriate service where more specialist treatment is required”
