Labour's Jean Murray has won a place on Keswick Town Council.
She beat off competition from three others in last night's by-election for the Keswick East ward.
The results are as follows: Jean Murray, Labour (236 votes); Donald Thoburn, independent (126 votes); Patricia Horner, independent (101 votes); David Leighton, independent (69 votes).
