Workington Town know this afternoon's test against Swinton Lions is set to be a tough encounter, as they try to put together a fit team for the Championship decider.

Town assistant coach Craig McDowell said they have 13 bodies ready to put themselves on the line this afternoon and he says they know what they need to do.

Kurt Maudling comes back into the side, with some reshuffling throughout due to injury and unavailability.

James Newton will start at hooker with Sean Penkywicz named on a bench that also holds the names of Perry Singleton, Andrew Dawson and the injured skipper Ollie Wilkes.

The halves remain unchanged for Town with playmakers Jamie Doran and Carl Forber present, with Tyllar Mellor again at full-back and Karl Olstrom filling the loose-forward role.

McDowell said: "This will be an interesting one, its been a bit of a nightmare for us to be honest from the minute it was arranged to where we are now.

"But we have 13 bodies, we will get them on the pitch and see what happens."

And on the issue of a lack of players and what the 13 on the pitch might face today, he added: "The boys are aware, we've spoken to them and they know they have to put some big hits in today. They know we've done everything we can to get more players in on welfare grounds.

But we've been told by the Rugby League that this game has to go ahead today so here we are."
