Matt Williamson is Workington Comets' third signing for 2016.
The 23-year-old reserve initially joined Comets in the summer on loan from Scunthorpe after Nicki Barrett was axed for poor form.
After a string of impressive performances in blue and white, the youngster was bought by Elite League side Wolverhampton this week.
Workington announced tonight that he would be returning to the club on loan next season.
Comets owner Laura Morgan said: "Matt I think has got a lot of potential.
"He came to us late in the season and was just starting to show what he could do.
"When he spoke at the end of season do he said he loved the track and enjoyed being at Workington.
"What he also said was that he was learning a lot from the other guys, which is fantastic and it shows the value of team spirit.
"We've got every faith Matt will improve his average."
Williamson joins Ricky Wells and Kenneth Hansen in Comets' 2016 line-up.
