After suffering back-to-back defeats, Cleator Moor Celtic bounced back to win a nine-goal thriller.

The 5-4 victory in the Hallmark Security League against Steeton saw two late goals turn defeat into victory.

Celtic took a fifth-minute lead when Brad Tatton played a superb ball into Liam Johnston who made no mistake but, seven minutes later, Tobias Jeffery fired in a cross and Callum Meade knocked past Craig Divine to level the scores.

With just over 30 minutes gone, Celtic regained the lead when Leigh Dunn and Johnston linked-up to find Ryan Hall and he turned in the box to hit a cracker past Fletcher Paley.

But just before half-time, centre-half Stephen Pearson fired in a second equaliser for Steeton.

Four minutes into the second half, the home side once again regained the lead as Dunn beat a high defensive line to slot past Paley.

Yet again, though, the teams were level soon afterwards when Ben Clarkson scored, although Celtic believed Johnston had hooked the ball clear before it crossed the line.

Johnston was booked for protesting and things got even worse for the west Cumbrians two minutes later as Johnston kicked the ball away in more frustration and was immediately shown a second yellow card.

It left Celtic to play the last 30 minutes with 10 men and, on 67 minutes, the visitors went in front for the first time when Clarkson headed in a Jeffery cross.

Then, with only two minutes remaining, substitute Darren Little was fouled in the box and the referee awarded a penalty which Tom Mahone converted off the post.

Into injury time and Little won the ball midway inside the Steeton half. As the centre-back retreated, anxious not to dive in and foul, the home winger hit the winner past Paley to give Cleator Moor the most dramatic of victories.
