Two more Workington Reds stars have put pen to paper on new deals to keep them with the side next season.

Kieran Maguire and David Symington are the latest members of last season’s squad to agree to sign non-contract terms for the 2019-20 campaign.

New Reds manager Danny Grainger confirmed the good news over the weekend as, slowly but surely, he concentrates on reshaping a team facing Step 4 football next term.

After being relegated at the end of last term, Reds are now looking to bounce back at the first attempt with a good season in the Evo-Stik West.

And the two players are welcome additions for Grainger, as both look dangerous on the attack.

Maguire did well in his debut season for Reds – his first at that level. He made 18 starts in his breakthrough season, making a further 21appearances via the bench and scored two goals.

Symington had a disrupted season, following a long spell on the sidelines. He had to undergo a long rehab programme after an operation and it was the New Year before he returned to the squad.

But when he returned he began to show glimpses of the quality he is known for. And his previous two season at Borough Park were both impressive, including the 2016-17 campaign when he finished top scorer.

This news follows on from the confirmation that striker Scott Allison and defender Josh Calvert have also agreed to stay under manager Grainger.

The duo also signed back on for another year and the new-look squad will report back for pre-season training next month.
