Only one goal separated two teams in a Workington Sunday Football League nine-goal thriller at the weekend.

A brace from Ryan Studholme helped Sun Inn just clinch the win over Blue Bell 5-4 at the final whistle.

Daryl Creighton, Richard O’Keefe and Dan Pearson also picked up goals for the victors while Tom Powell got two for Blue Bell, with one apiece for Ben Powell and Carl Denver as the premier division game came to a close.

Also in the top flight, Pack Horse recorded a 3-1 victory on their travels at Salterbeck, whose lone goal came from Charlie Shaw.

The winners shared the goals about, with Luke Davidson, Ryan Connelly and Bradley Hadfield all on the scoresheet.

Grapes’ clash with Deer Orchard was postponed.

In division one, there was a hat-trick for Highfield’s Declan Moore as he helped his side to a 4-1 win over JJs, with a Jack Clark goal rounding up the scoring.

The reply from JJs came from Bradley Dryden.

There was nothing to choose between Sun Inn Athletic and Dearham when the two sides met, with a 3-3 scoreline at the final whistle.

Mark Campbell, Linden Wilson and Ben Carter all found the back of the net for Athletic while Steven Stoddart bagged a brace for the visitors and Jack Taylor added a third.

Maryport Labour Club picked up a 3-1 win at Home, when they entertained Flimby Social, whose lone goal came from Johnathan Heaney.

Ethan Weir, Jack Pears and Macauley Sharp were all on target for Labour Club.

And finally Glasson Gardeners racked up the goal when they put seven past The Junction, who claimed two in reply. There were braces all round for the Glasson side, courtesy of Ciaran Boots, Karl Fillingham and Gareth Evans, with John Mulgrew also getting on the scoresheet.

For The Junction, Gavin Cain and Scott Holliday were on target.
