WORKINGTON Comets have a double header this weekend.

The Comets, who are sponsored by GT Tyres, will be partaking in a rescheduled cup tie against Edinburgh Monarchs.

The GT Tyres Comets will be hosting the MAXiCab Knockout Cup first-round clash at the Northside's GT Tyres Arena on Saturday, May 24, at 3pm.

The side have now went almost a fortnight without a meeting.

A defeat at Redcar Bears was followed by home success over Scunthorpe Scorpions at Workington, before back-to-back defeats against the same two opponents the following weekend.

GT Tyres Comets team boss James Denham insisted earlier this week: "We simply must improve."

Denham believes a two-week pause in their season could re-energise his riders.

“We will need to keep it as close as possible to win over the two legs,” He said.
