Salterbeck mixed martial arts fighter Jordan Holmes is ready to break onto the big stage this weekend.
Holmes is fighting tomorrow on the biggest show in Europe - Cage Warriors 82, at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
The 21-year-old is the current UK Fighting Championships welterweight champion.
And he is going into this bout with a five fight unbeaten run in the amateur ranks behind him and an overall record of 6-1.
Tomorrow he will take on Paul 'Boom Boom' Bentley from Atherton Submission Wrestling, where he is strength and conditioning coach.
It is a pedigree stable, with Bentley's team mates including UFC lightweight star Mark Diakese.
Bentley is a tough aggressive fighter whose wins have came via knockout and he will have a large local support on hand.
But Holmes is also taking plenty of support with him from Hokushinko Fight Academy, in Workington, where he trains.
Dave Straughton, the club's head boxing coach and Ben Roberts, HFA's MMA coach will be in his corner, with around 20 clubmates also making the trip.
Holmes is dedicated to the sport and trains six times a week, twice a day. And he is also heading to Thailand for a month to study Muay Thai and wrestling techniques to improve his style.
The event is prestigious in the sport, with current UFC champions Conor McGregor and Joanna Jedrezcyk both former champions at Cage Warriors.
In his last fight Homes defeated McGregor's SBG Ireland team-mate Elliot Levy via triangle choke.
