Rising star Matt Williamson is Workington Comets' first signing for the 2017 SGB Championship season.
The youngster has enjoyed a terrific year, significantly improving his average to 3.67 with Workington and establishing himself as a formidable National League No1 with Belle Vue.
As a result he scooped the awards for Most Improved Average and Most Bonus Points at the Comets' end-of-season do last week.
Williamson said: "I just love it there, especially coming off the year I've had so there's no reason why I wouldn't have wanted to come back.
"I love the track, it's a lovely drive up from Manchester every weekend and the promotion have been really good to me.
"The whole thing is just improvement all the time and if that takes me into the main body of the team that would be great but as long as I finish with more points on my average than I started with that's the main thing.
"I can't want, I'm already starting preparation so we'll see what offers come in for the other leagues then it'll be here before we know it."
