Workington Comets manager Tony Jackson slammed the track conditions after his side endured a disappointing afternoon in the rain at Glasgow yesterday.
Poor visibility made passing virtually impossible and Jackson said his side had been well-beaten from the gate.
He added: “It had rained beforehand, so it’s been wet all the way through. Visibility was a problem and if you didn’t make the gate you were history.
“In heat eight we were on a 5-1 and their guy drove up the inside and Matt Williamson was wrongly excluded.
“They were better out of the gate than us and they know their own track obviously, so they could pass if they needed to.
“It was always going to be tough and the rain made it even tougher.
“With that lead and the team that Glasgow’s got the next leg is almost a formality.”
Jackson had been in a much better mood after his side’s victory over league leaders Somerset the previous day, when he said: “I’m very happy, it’s nice to bounce back with a win and they had two ex-Comets who did well so it wasn’t easy.
“It was a pleasing night with some good racing.”
