Reds face a tough Easter schedule with Halesowen the visitors to Borough Park on Saturday, ko 3pm, before they travel to face Nantwich Town on Monday.

And these results could either make or break Workington’s season as they aim for a final tilt at the promotion play-off berths.

“We are going into the final week of the season and these games will determine the outcome,” said Hewson.

“The lads have been fantastic and I couldn’t ask for any more from them. This weekend will be a tough ask. It’s a lot of games but we have got to take it one match at a time.

“We’ll look after this Saturday first and foremost and make sure we don’t get ahead of ourselves. We have to focus on Halesowen, get the job done and then look to Monday.”

Reds have another home game next Saturday against Sutton Coldfield and they are awaiting a decision from the league as to when their postponed clash with Ilkeston will be played.

But the bonus for Hewson is that he has virtually a full squad to choose from for the two fixtures, with the only doubt lying with Rob Wilson.

The midfielder suffered a recurrence of an old ankle injury in the warm-up to Tuesday night’s win over play-off rivals Buxton and had to sit it out.

“We are starting to get everyone back to full fitness,” said a relieved Hewson.

“Kyle May missed out on Tuesday through illness but, hopefully, he will be back.

“Anthony Wright played and Josh Calvert is fit again following a toe injury.

“The only problem is Rob who has a recurrence of an old ankle injury that just reappears at this stage of the season. He has played a lot of games and it has taken its toll. We just have to manage it from game-to-game and day-to-day.”

Reds are currently in eighth place, only two points adrift of the fifth-placed team, and they have a game in hand on several of the sides above them.

Fans will be keeping a close eye on other results as some points will be dropped on Saturday when rivals Buxton and Grantham face each other, while Stourbridge host Frickley and Whitby entertain Warrington Town.
