Workington Reds recent run of form came to a halt against Stafford Rangers when they went down 2-1.
Reds went down 2-0 to two quick goals from Stafford, the first from Izak Reid after a defensive mix-up.
Then centre half Mathew Bailey scored a great volley to put the visitors 2-0 ahead
James Earl struck one back for Workington to put them back into contention.
But despite having the majority of possession Reds could not get past their opponents.
Now they will look ahead to Tuesday night and the Cumberland Cup tie against Aspatria.
