MARK Jenkinson MP has announced the winners of his Christmas card competition.

The judging panel received hundreds of eye-catching festive entries, making it very challenging to whittle it down to the final few.

Mr Jenkinson met each of the winners to present to them their awards, and their designs will feature on his annual Christmas card to be delivered in the coming days.

He said: “The panel spent a considerable amount of time poring over eye-catching images of elves and reindeer, of snowmen and candy cane – some of them with an exciting local twist!

“The quality of the work was stunning – and to pick the winners was no mean feat for our four judges.

“It was a privilege to meet each of the pupils to present to them their awards, and to congratulate them personally for their excellent Christmas cards.

“I would also like to thank everyone who took part. This was a real showcase of the talent of the Workington constituency's children.”

The judging panel was made up of Mark Jenkinson MP, Paul Williamson from Firpress, Councillor Patricia Poole, Manager of the Helena Thompson Museum, and Bridget Dempsey from Newsquest.
